5th Grade Chemistry Curicculum
We were tasked with making a chemistry curriculum for a 5th grade class. This project came into being when our teacher's sister, a 5th grade teacher, asked for help with teaching chemistry. Naturally our teacher decided to have us do this task and so we tried to do it. The first thing every group did was to look up 5th grade curriculum standards and from there everyone went separate ways. Here's our take:
Reflection
Our group did a good job. I think we all worked hard most of the time and the only troubles we ran into was our work pace, boredom, and knowing what to do. We weren't given any real boundaries or ideas on where to start so we had to research a lot about how to structure a curriculum. In this respect we learned a lot, whether it be correct or not, and I feel a tad more confident if I ever have to teach a class of 5th graders. Our work pace was limited as it would go really well and then it would stop because we didn't know where to go, then once we found something it would pick up again. It's something I don't see any way to improve on, but it was a thing. The last thing is that this wasn't the most interesting project and because of that I found myself easily bored.
