The goal of this project was to build a set of instruments consisting of one string instrument, one wind instrument, and one percussion instrument, and they all had to be able to play all the notes from A-G. My group managed to completely fulfill the requirement for two of our instruments, our flute ( the wind instrument ) and our bottle chimes ( the percussion instrument ). Our guitar on the other hand didn't work due to the strings loosening up and the structure of the guitar being faulty. Below is a document that specifically goes over how each of our instruments work.
Key Concepts
Amplitude - distance from midpoint to crest or trough of a wavelength
Crest - highest point in a sound wave
Trough - lowest point in a sound wave
Wavelength - distance from crest to crest or trough to trough
Frequency - how often vibration occurs
Period - amount of time between waves
Interference - when two waves combine
Transverse Wave - a wave that moves up and down as it goes along
Longitudinal Wave - a wave that compresses as it goes along

In this project I learned how much time management helps if you use it right. Our group did not manage time well and it ended up leaving us with a broken guitar, and an untuned set of bottle chimes two days before we were supposed to present it all. I also learned that making sure you having all the materials you need will save you a lot of time, because we tried to make a guitar by stapling the strings down instead of getting some more proper things to keep the strings down.
